Touissant has more recently earned induction into the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame, a remarkable achievement for a musician who’s always stayed true to his roots in R&B and jazz. This solo appearance will undoubtedly highlight a few gems from his newest release The Bright Mississippi (Nonesuch, 2009), which has been recognized as one of DownBeat’s “Best CDs of the 2000s.”
