Guitarist / composer Ottmar Liebert has always managed to defy categorization; his mutable yet demanding approach invariably results in record store conundrums. A search for his studio works in the jazz, new age and Latin music stacks will reap rewards well worth the effort. With a revolving cast of accomplices loosely entitled Luna Negra (Black Moon), Liebert has forged an incomparable path into a genre some refer to as “Nouveau Flamenco.”
