While growing up in nearby Carmel, Kyle Eastwood was inspired to undertake a life in music after listening to records by Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Miles Davis, despite his father’s ties to the world of film. Annual family outings to the Monterey Jazz Festival further solidified the younger Eastwood’s passion for jazz. As a bassist and bandleader with impeccable taste, Eastwood has sold out venues across three continents. His most current album, 2011’s Songs From The Chateau pays tribute to France, where Eastwood spends much of his time and inspires many of the vibrant scenes in his image-rich music.
