Since bursting onto the New York scene in 1989, saxophonist Chris Potter has become a force of nature as a player, composer and arranger. His accomplishments include fifteen albums as a leader with guest appearances on over 150 albums. He has gained accolades from the likes of Sonny Rollins, Dave Liebman and countless other saxophone icons. Despite having collaborated with Steely Dan, Herbie Hancock, John Scofield and more, the true nature of Potter’s talents can best be seen with his quartet. His newest release is 2011’s Transatlantic, which shows Potter in exemplary form as a soloist and arranger.
