Cuban powerhouse drummer Dafnis Prieto accomplishes with two hands what should seemingly take an entire team of percussionists. His unequaled rhythmic sensibilities have ranked him at the top of his field, and his bandleader abilities are helping to usher in a new era and style of Latin jazz. Combining avant-garde sensibilities with impeccable grooves and technique, Prieto’s leadership allows for never-ending possibility. The Proverb Trio includes Jason Lindner on keyboards, as well as the vocals, lyrics, and poetry of the Grammy-nominated songwriter Kokayi.
