More Information
Tenor saxophonist Scott Hamilton emerged as a major jazz talent in the late 1970s. Grounded in the classic American songbook, his style embraced the lyricism of Ben Webster and the passion of John Coltrane. Despite his dedication to old styles, Hamilton has excelled by leaving his own mark on yesterday's standards. His longtime association with Concord Records has led to more than 30 albums as a leader joining forces with such greats as pianists Bill Charlap, guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli and saxophonist Gerry Mulligan. Premiere west coast pianist Larry Vuckovich joins Hamilton; together creating an easy swinging spell on the listener. |
