Oregon formed in 1970 and established itself as one of the earliest exponents of world jazz. Today its sensitively executed improvisations and dynamically expressive interplay between players Ralph Towner, Paul McCandless, Glen Moore and Mark Walker continues to expand jazz expression. Towner, as the main composer, blurs the line between composition and improvisation, offering shifting tonalities and multi-cultural rhythmic interest as a basis for the music. |
